OPEN RECORDS POLICY OF JACKSON TOWNSHIP
AVAILABILITY AND ACCESS
All public records of Jackson Township shall be available for inspection and copying at the Jackson Township Office during normal business hours.
Requests for public records of Jackson Township shall be in writing and directed to the Open Records Officer or Alternate. Written requests shall be on a form provided by Jackson Township. A clear and detailed description of the records to be viewed shall be provided.
Fees charged by Jackson Township that are related to the Right to Know Law (aka Open Records policy) are set by the PA Office of Open Records.
RESPONSE TO REQUEST
Jackson Township will make a good faith effort to provide the requested public records within the five-day window as set by the Right To Know Law. If a thirty-day extension is needed, it will be requested by Jackson Township in writing.
If a written request is denied or deemed denied, a right to appeal can be made in writing to: Terry Mutchler, Executive Director; Office of Public Records; Commonwealth Keystone Building; 400 North Street 4th Floor; Harrisburg, PA, 17120. (The requester may file exceptions with the Jackson Township Board of Supervisors within fifteen (15) business days of the mailing date of the Township's denial. The exceptions shall state grounds on which the requester asserts that the record is a public record and shall address any grounds stated by the Jackson Township Board of Supervisors for denying the request.)
